ABOUT

About RLB Inc. — Delivering Fuel on Rainy Lake Since 1992

RLB Inc. was founded by Captain Eric Johnson in 2017, taking over all operations and customers from Rainy Lake Barge and Construction Inc., which has served the Rainy Lake community since 1992. That means over 30 years of continuous, trusted fuel delivery on these waters.

About Captain Eric Johnson:

Captain Eric Johnson holds a USCG Master 50-Ton Near Coastal credential, a Tankerman Dangerous Goods endorsement, and a Towing/Sailing endorsement — among the most demanding maritime credentials available. He has navigated Rainy Lake and the connected

waterway system for his entire career and personally manages all fuel delivery operations, Coast Guard compliance, U.S. and Canadian customs clearance, and customer relationships.

Our Vessels:

•  Harbor Lites — 54-foot, 40-ton Coast Guard-inspected fuel tank ship

•  Ted Smith 1 — 35-foot propane barge

•  Ted Smith 2 — 35-foot liquid fuel barge

In Memory of Captain Carl Brown:

The wheelhouse of the tank ship Harbor Lites is dedicated to the memory of Captain Carl Brown, whose love for Rainy Lake and his ship was surpassed only by his strength, dedication, and kindness. His legacy lives on in every voyage we make.
